A Global Wake Up Call for Citizens to Question Authority, Assumptions, Motives & then to Act
If there is one thing that I’ve learned in 30+ years working in the global corporate sector and living in seven different countries, it is to question everything. At all times, regardless of source.
Question what authorities are mandating, what corporate leaders are pushing, what journalists are peddling. For if we, citizens of our great democracies, are not fully informed to hold our leaders accountable, then tyranny will result.
It was none other than Thomas Jefferson who stated “a well-informed citizenry is the best defence against tyranny”. My strong, and admittedly distressful believe, is that technology has dumbed down the vast majority of people to the point where we now, collectively, stand at the precipice of global tyranny.
Don’t believe me? Let’s look at a few examples.
But first a qualifier: I am not I’m paranoid or mistrustful person in general; quite the contrary. But if the last few years haven’t taught us all to Think and Question, then our species doesn’t have much of a future. In other words, Darwinism may have finally ground to a halt.
Summarising some particularly poignant recent events to frame our collective predicament:
Covid: we now know that Covid-19 (gain of function) was created in a Wuhan lab, with US public money funding. We also now know that the mRNA jabs - best case - weren’t “safe and effective”. Lockdowns came and masks were required, both measures counter to established science. But question that in 2021-23 and one was labelled a conspiracy loon.
The result? Millions of small businesses were destroyed with lockdowns, individual freedoms that our forefathers shed blood to attain for us lost and vaccine injuries & deaths occurred at a level that justifies Crimes Against Humanity class action.
Russia/Ukraine: venturing further back in time – but highly relevant to our current predicament - we know that NATO & US presidents broke the promise that then US Secretary of State James Baker made to Gorbachev in 1990 that NATO would not expand east by “one inch”. After NATO expanded 1,000 miles eastward, the US launched a (illegal) 2014 coup against a democratically elected Ukrainian government.
The result? 600,000+ dead Ukrainians due to Russia’s “illegal & unjustified” invasion; when in reality, the US decided to fight Russia down to the last Ukrainian in a needless proxy war.
Now, all of humanity faces the existential threat of global nuclear war.
Gaza: news has confirmed that PM Netanyahu helped create Hamas with funding to act as a counterbalance to the PLO. More worrisome, latest information seems to indicate that Israel not only knew the October 7th attacks were going to occur, but also had a hand in those attacks.
The result? Nazi-like genocide of indigenous people; people who, living in the world’s largest outdoor concentration camp & an apartheid state, decided there was no better alternative but to lash back. Profoundly sad. And avoidable if a two state solution was really on the cards.
Nordstream: As Seymour Hersch reported, the US was behind the largest environmental disaster in history - the destruction of the Nordstream Pipeline (side note: the US just had a hand in cluster-bombing a Russian beach in Sevastopol).
The result? As Kissinger so famously stated, “It may be dangerous to the America’s enemy, but to be America’s friend is lethal”.
Europe learned the hard way. Gone is cheap Russian gas, replaced by much more expensive (US) LNG, causing great economic harm to all European citizens & helping to hollow out German industrial power.
What TF is happening? Has the world gone mad?
It should be noted that each and every one of the above examples could have been avoided with good, honest political leadership. But that’s what we sorely lack in most countries around the world.
So, what to do?
Stop. Pause. Take a Deep Breath.
We need a plan. A plan where we all get informed & we all get activated.
We start by Thinking and Questioning how we got into our current predicaments. As Jefferson said, it is incumbent on each & every one of us to start questioning official narratives, for the official government narratives have been proven time & time again to be lies. We can either work within our current democratic systems by electing new political leaders - leaders that aren’t now & won’t be in the future captured by special interests - or we can elect to revolt.
To be clear, I prefer the first option. But our elected officials need to fear their citizens. Our leaders used fear on us during Covid, for fear is quite an effective tool of control. It’s high time we return the favour. Fear us, illustrious leaders of ours!
If wise & incorruptible politicians can be elected, then their first order of business is:
(i) end perpetual wars;
(ii) introduce political term limits; and,
(iii) get unlimited corporate money out of politics.
It really is that simple; returning to what the US founding fathers intended - private citizens taking a few years out of their professional lives to serve the public. And then, after one or two terms served, they return to their private lives, rather than become ossified ghouls such as Mitch McConnell, Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden.
Europe can and should follow this example; and, in the process, grow a backbone when dealing with the US. Are we Europeans simple vassal states of the hegemonic & dangerous US? Or are we proud, independent sovereign nations?!
Bottom line: it’s time for #WeThePeople to wake TF up and reclaim our democracies, starting with:
Thinking,
Questioning,
Activating.
This is a foundational first step; an absolute requirement of all citizens who want a better future. For the alternative is truly dire.
